Hi Everyone!

Been a long time, eh?

I've decided that since I've been crocheting for a year, now, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. So I decided to get a pair of knitting needles & teach myself how to knit. Ha! When I did the crocheting thing, I got the little kit with the book & some hooks. This time, I just decided to go online for my tutorials. Yikes... it's confusing, lol. I *think* I've learned the basic knit stitch. I've figured out how to "cast on", and how to get the stitches from the left needle, to the right, but I haven't found anything that tells me how to go beyond that. So I guess I need to get a book. I'll try the library, first & see if they have something I can check out.

If anyone has suggestions on books, or even websites that might help, would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Knitting for Dummies was great for me. That's how I learned.

I also just figured out how to knit on my own. I had a really hard time learning the purl stitch just from the diagrams, but this video was really helpful:

That lady has a few videos on there, so you can confirm if you're doing the other part right, too.

Hope it helps! :-)

I used knittinghelp.com a lot when I was learning, it has videos for most types of cast-ons, increases, decreases and just about everything else I've needed.

I'm thinking about going back to get that knitting kit, from Walmart. I got the one for crocheting & it helped a lot more than I thought it did.

Thank you! ;o)

The knitting kit helped with with the basics of cast on and knitting, I needed a bit more help with doing the purl stitch and went to the tutorials.
