Can I answer these questions with an item that I no longer have and it breaks my heart?

Belonging, item you have .. what is it? A piece of note paper from my dad that says "Jennifer, your daddy loves you".

Where did it come from? My dad

How did you get it? In my very early twenties my parents went through a very bitter divorce. I was being pulled from both sides. Anyway, my dad and I had a huge fight (one of many about the divorce) and the next morning this note was on my purse.

How long have you had it? I kept it in my wallet. Everytime I opened my wallet I would see my eldest daughter (this was before Lindsay was born) and this note. One day my wallet was stolen and the note went with it. They could have kept all the cards and money in it, but I would have like to have had the note back.

Belonging, item you have .. what is it? A beautiful diamond & opal ring

Where did it come from? England

How did you get it? Philip

How long have you had it? 3 years

This is a beautiful ring that was Philip's grandmothers. She was a maid in England for a very wealthy woman. When the woman died she left everything to Philip's grandmother, but she didn't want it. She just took a small house and some special pieces of jewelry. The ring was one of them. She gave the ring to Philip's dad who gave it to his mom when they wanted to get married. Philip's mom gave it to him to give to me when he was ready to make me a part of the family.
It's very special to me.

:o)

Wow. What a story. Don't you wish the thief could have mailed it back anonymously? But I guess your average thief doesn't have a heart of gold, huh?

That would be all the kitties I've had over the years. :) My current crew I adopted 8 years ago from the Humane League. The crew before that I got when I answered an ad from the farm where they were born. The one before that, somebody gave Nancy & me when we were sharing a house. That was Spot, the striped cat. He introduced both of us to the joys of kitties. :o) I will always be grateful to Spot & to the people who gave him to us. :o)

I'm not a sentimental person, & we're not a close family, so I don't have any *things* that i treasure.

Awww {{{Jennifer}}}
That indeed was something so special.
How awful it is gone.
You do have the memory of it though and hopefully that helps a bit :)

What a wonderful story Jo,

That ring is indeed very special.
Love how those things get passed down, make them even more treasured.
No doubt you'll pass it down when the time is right
