My 2 latest were Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie, & Memory of Running, the author of which I forget. I really liked both of them & would recommend them. Bet Me is romantic. An overweight woman & a "gorgeous" guy get thrown together by a bet. They keep resisting, but keep ending up together. He likes her just as she is, which is nice. :) Good characters. For me, Crusie's books run hot & cold. Two I've liked. 2 I wasn't so crazy about.

Memory of Running is about a poor schlep, a 279-pound (is there a theme here?! LOL) chain-smoking, alcoholic loser, whose beloved parents die in an accident. On the day of their funeral, he finds out that his beloved sister, who has been mentally ill all her life, & who has been missing for 20 years, has died & is in a morgue in CA. (He's in RI.) He sets out on a 30-yo 3-speed bike, to ride cross-country & claim her body. Much of the book is flashbacks, & is almost as much about the sister as it is about him. Very good book. I recommend it. Johanna, there's some good RI stuff in it. :)

I finished reading "Elvis & Me" by Priscilla Presley. It was actually very good.
Now i am reading "The Story of My Life" it's a true story about an Afghan girl.

Have you ever read that book?
If you really adore Priscilla then you should read it.
She has such a humble way about her. And it was great to read about her life with Elvis in her own words and close thoughts.

Also, Do you know any Of Lisa-Marie's songs?...She has one song called "Raven" She wrote that for her mom.
Here are the Lyrics:

"Raven"

And as the raven flies she feels unwelcome
She's fallen out of her tree and caught on a limb of silver lining
Her wings uncertain oh but she's still flying
Yeah little Raven I see you there

Hold your head up now
I won't try and pull your feathers out I promise
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Why don't you fly with me
We'll have a chat and a cup of tea
And a long lost need to see who's really there

And you'll finally be okay with me
And I'll hear your stories
That fill your sad eyes
When you had raven hair

Hold your high up high
I know that I've been ruthless
I've been ruthless

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
Hey you finally see me - hi
And I see you
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Hi Jo,
Not I have not read that book.
Have so many on my TBR list, LOL
Not familiar with her daughter or songs either.
That is a really pretty one though.

I'm a Nora Roberts fan. I've been re-reading the "Born In" series again and I'm on the last one now - Born in Shame.

I have a lot of Nora's books and tend to re-read them if I don't have anything else to read. My favourites of all are the Chesapeake Bay quartet. Love those Quinn men!
