I was reading an article about "what to do with old pantyhose & old socks" and there were some really clever ideas! How many unique ideas we can come up with to use old pantyhose and socks...............
Here's one for starters:
--Stretch pieces of panty hose inside your clay planting pots or containers over the hole. Allows water to drain but not the soil.

come back towards the end of the week Jodi, and maybe we will have some great ideas so you don't have to chuck them....
Like your new siggie very "spring"
Here's a few to get you started:
1.Keep an old pair of pantyhose in the trunk of your car as a tie-down for the trunk. Use it like you would a bungee cord.
2.Make a cat toy out of an old sock by filling the foot with pieces of old fabric, then sewing up the opening. Add a bit of catnip for an extra treat.
3.Put a tennis ball in an old sock and tie a knot to fashion a great toy for a dog.
4.Old nylon stockings come in extremely handy for cleaning sinks without scratching them. Just cut off the foot of an old nylon stocking, roll it up and it's ready to use.
5.Cut a slit in the bottom of an old sock and slip over a child's ice skate. This will better insulate their foot inside the skate. Secure with hook-and-loop straps.
6.Old pantyhose work great for applying varnish or finish. They allow you to get into the hard-to-reach places where a brush won't fit.
7.On extra-cold days, use old, but clean socks as mitten liners for children. They are ideal because they can provide warmth at least up to the elbow.
8.Use the top of a pair of pantyhose as a large rubber band to take out the recycled newspapers and magazines.
9.Make a door snake to prevent drafts by filling a long sock with sand and stitching the end closed. Place at the bottom of the door to prevent air from seeping inside.
10.Use an old sock for toting around small toys such as action figures. This tip is great for a road trip.
Well, you aren't likely to encounter this situation often but...
When we lived in London, we bought an American-style dryer (Long story) which required ventilation to the outside for the exhaust hose BUT that wasn't allowed in our burrough (something about an ancient law about "holes" in buildings which allowed entry for rats...)so...
enter the panty hose. Tied around the exhaust hose with a rubber band, the panty hose acted as a lint filter and allowed us to safely "exhaust" the drier into the laundry closet! LOL Just needed to change out the panty hose every once in a while when it got lint-clogged...
