Do you have a good memory?
Can you remember what you wore yesterday?
Remember what you did last weekend?
Which is better .. your short or long term memory?
Just wondering :)

Oy vey! My memory, short-term AND long-term, is DREADFUL! I have lots of techniques I use to compensate for my short-term memory. So in some ways I do OK. But my past is a complete loss. :( There's a singer Nancy & I both like who does a song called "Dear Margaret Remembers That for Me." (Or maybe that's not the title, but that's what we call it.) So we have a *thing*: Dear Nancy (& occasionally Katz) remembers that for me. LOL. We've been frinds since the 70s. Nancy has an excellent long-term memory. So she can always tell me about my past. LOL. We talk about being old ladies, sitting in rocking chairs on the porch of the nursing home together, & her telling me about my past. LOL. Sad but true.

One odd thing is that neither my only brother nor I can remember our childhood, & neither can his only biological 20-something son. Hmmm...

Hi Katz,
Cute on you & your friend Nancy,
Kind of neat she'll help remind you of your past
Associating things helps as well .. it's those that trigger.

Too bad about your childhood for both of you.
I use to ask my brother .. his memory was much better than mine ::blush::
Have you ever just sat & thought about like where you lived, things that happened?
Look through pictures .. that might help.
Good news is I think *many* of us are in your shoes :)

I remember the neighborhood, & some of my friends. But other than that, a lot of the "memories" I have are only because of pix that we have, like you said. But my brother has almost all of our childhood pix. I should get them from him.

Yes, it's things for which I have an association, that I can remember best. For a period of several years, I moved a LOT & changed jobs a few times. So I can remember things by where I was living or working. Otherwise, I'm lost.

It's kind of sad when we can't remember from long ago don't you think?
I try to relate some of the things that happen to me to my own kids.
Course then I get that *roll eyes* look from them :)
