Ever planned a surprise party?

IF SO; was it a success , was the person really surprised?

IF NOT: has anyone thrown one in your honor and were you truly surprised?

I haven't planned one myself, but I am going to help set up one tomorrow!

I have had one in my honor and I didn't appreciate it. I feel bad now, but I've never liked the spotlight on me. My mom went to a lot of trouble to get it together and I know she felt bad that I seemed so unhappy. I don't appreciate being left out of the loop. Or didn't. I'd totally appreciate one now... Now if only I hadn't screwed it up. After my behavior back then no one's going to advise giving me a surprise anything. Presents for christmas or my birthday, but that's it. I don't even feel comfortable knowing that many people know about any particular present and I'm the *only* one surprised when it comes. It makes me wonder what else the people I think I know so well could be hiding.
