I just talkd to the surgeon's office. Now they're saying I might be off work for 4 to 8 weeks! :-( The surgeon had told me 1 week. All I can think of is that maybe they say this to cover all bases in case I am out that long. (They put 4 to 8 weeks on the disability paperwork that allows me to get paid part of my salary while I'm out.) Otherwise, how could he tell me one thing & his office tell me something so different?! Gads! I am NOT happy. I can't imagine being out that long, & more importantly, feeling lousy for that long. :( Woe is me. LOL

OH that's awful to hear Katz,
Will work allow you that much time off?
Guess it depends how fast you recover really.
Sorry to hear this.

Yes, they'll give me as much time as I need. And I'll get part of my pay.

hopefully it won't take that long to recover but the extra time does help that you don't try to rush the recovery. good thing you can get short term disability.hopefully it will be nice weather and you can enjoy it a little.

did you know that if you have loans- car or mortgage even credit cards - may be covered. if you have taken any type of ins with them through your bank...it should be covered until yo go back to work.if you know already... sorry...the old loan dept me is coming out:O) bad habit..but some people are unaware of this.

take care

Thanks! Fortunately, I don't have any loans. I've never bought that kind of insurance.

No, the Dr. said that it would be "nice" if someone could stay w/me the first night, but it's not necessary. I just talked briefly w/the office again. This time the person asked what I do for a living. When she heard I sit all day, she said maybe I could go back earlier. I have a call in to find out what kind of restrictions I'll be under. Since I live alone, it would help to know in advance.
