Wasn't a great trip...
First off it was the 6 anniversary of my mom's death and I have not been able to have closure, so I get very sad about it....
The flight was OK and I had a whole row to myself!
As we deboarded , we turned on the cell phone, and got a msg that dh's friend was in critical condition in the hospital. He had been "trimming the tree with a chain saw" and fell, cut off the hand and broke some vertebrae, was flown to the hospital by helicopter ..... oh boy..... he's alive, he's like one massive piece of metal holding him together... they don't know if he'll walk again yet..... but he can move his toes and feet and fingers... which I take as a GOOD sign...
We went home before going to the hospital, and found that something leaked in the basement, and all the walls have sucked up water and are molding (there was no water on the floor thank heavens but it's all in the walls..... very odd actually (we think it was caused by mulitple problems, the biggest one a little pipe that dh "tried to fix himself" before we left.... obviously didn't fix it, i could just shoot him . Every once inwhile he gets in this handyman mood!) . This is a real nasty problem and we'll call in two different experts on Monday to figure out what happen..... The gully backed up since we turned it off so there would be no problems but this little pipe overflowing for 3 weeks , with the backwash systen turned off, really made a mess,,,,, we just had the whole place painted last summer go figure. This will be BIG bucks... sigh
Went to the hospital to visit friend, he is in amazingly good spirits, I think it's the "drip " he's got running... cause I don't think he can possibly be in good spirits...
Did the grocery, and by that time it was 7pm , of course with my disc and knee and sciatic problems from the past 5 weeks, my back was aching badly and today I can't do stairs.... but we are home and by the looks of everything going on here, it's HIGH TIME to be home...
On a positive note, called ds to tell him that we are back and he's doing GREAT, back to college and likes his new courses and professors and was on his way out to the opening of a new place in Vienna! So see, there's always something positive going on to be happy for! Glad to be back.....
