Mine was my mom's. It's round, oak, & has 2 leaves, which I don't normally keep in it. I used to keep it uncovered, but a painting accident some years ago ruined the finish. :( Champion procrastinator that I am, I now keep it covered w/a fairly nice cloth that is annoyingly a couple of inches too long. :( Knowing me, I'll never get it refinished. :(
I got a call from the clock guy the day after I got home from the hospital, saying that it was ready to be picked up. I wasn't supposed to drive at first, & haven't felt like making the trip. So maybe I'll pick it up Saturday.
I have an antique desk that was either my Mom's as a kid, or my grandfather's. It's bird's-eye maple. But my mother really ruined the finish on it by watering a plant on it & I guess the water spilled & she didn't know it. I doubt anything could be done for it. But it's a small spot, & I'm able to cover it up.
Be careful please Katz, driving although it seems harmless really entails much manuevering..... and I don't know how heavy your clock is but... consider that also.... it could be picked up even next weekend I bet.....
i have a rectangular table with six chairs. it is too big for here. i want to get a small round table. it is rare that we eat at the table so it is used for a desk and catchall!
