Way back when, before there were videos and cds and personal computers of all shapes and sizes, there were books. My Mom used to buy Golden Books at the store and we had a whole shelf full of them. We would get ready for bed, and when Mom came upstairs to kiss us goodnight, and tuck us in, she would read us a story before we went to sleep. We had a lot of stories, but if given a choice, the three of us girls would always choose, "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" by the Brothers Grimm. I think my youngest sister grew up believing it was her duty to go out and dance all night even when she had children. Now that they've grown up, she still likes to go out most nights and have fun.Funny, eh? Anyone else emulate their favoriet fairy tale?
My favorite is Rapunzel. When I was young I had long hair, maybe that's why I started to like it. But now I like it because it's much deeper than most fairy tales. Rapunzel ends up saving her prince and restoring his sight. Together they end up finding there way back to the kingdom and live happily ever after. Her future happiness was in her hands not that of anyone else. Zen
