Go figure. I've been here 28 years, you would think I would learn this... don't plant anything before end of May. So again, I started out with two pansy containers. That's not so bad , they will spring back. Dh thought that was cute, so he surprised me with vats of marigolds, petunias, ice begonias..... so I put them all out in the garden where he needs to plant them.... and bingo! 2 feet of snow!

WOW- on the 2 feet of snow !!! Is this normal at this time of year to get that much snow?? Hate to make you feel bad- but here in Boston today is suppossed to get up to 58 degrees- and tommorrow there is talk of going up to 70 degrees !! yeahhh! Before you know it- we will be complaining of the heat & humidity!

Now Suzan- you live in Munich right? How hot does the summer get? I was wondering if it gets as hot as our summer!

Too bad about your flowers- hope they pop back !

Bunny, we have long winters way into the end of April (so I should have known). The summers here are not hot, actually if it stops raining long enough the weather is perfect, not hot not cold, just right for swimming... etc... but that happens like once a decade. Summers here are rain, rain and more rain... that 's why we tend to leave the city ..... and actually it's playing a BIG part in your not so far off retirement plans.... move to a warmer and sunnier climate
