I did have a surprise today!! My DD called to tell me that they took GS into Childrens Hospital E.R. in Boston last nite! I yelled into the phone W-H-A-T !!!!!
Early in the evening Matthew was sitting on the floor- he went to reach for a toy, that slightly behind him, he lost his balance & fell backwards w/his leg bent up underneath him! He was screaming bloody murder (he never screams ) they were both right there, SIL picked him right up & Matthew held his leg bend upwards. they thought he might have broke or fractured his knee or something !
Many x-rays were done- nothing! Which was good- But when his lower leg was touched he screamed! Dr said it was a pulled muscle or ham string! He is much better today! Boy what a scare-They were gonna cancel thier week-end get-a-way, but Gramma said to go- We will be fine-Poor baby!
That was my surprise today! One I wish I did'nt have!
This time of year, before the foliage starts turning green, they're starving for something to eat after a long winter. You see them in the yards where the grass turns green as soon as the snow melts, on their knees eating as much as they can. They've gone all winter long just eating bark and twigs,so it's a long month for them before the food arrives(green leaves)Plus, they're ready to calve, so they are under a lotta stress. You want to make sure the dogs leave them alone. In the next couple of weeks, the sprouts and leaves will all bring green springtime sprouts for them, the babies will all arrive and the moose mostly will head for the hills and be out of town till after frost. They will charge if you come between them and their young, and if threatened, but mostly they're like any wild grazing animal and live peacefully and quietly. They are not meat eaters like bears or wolves, so they will not bit you or eat you.
{{{Bunny}}} Such a scary surprise is right, bummer. Just awful this happened but thank goodness it wasn't any worse, whew! Good they are still going away too :)
