What are your thoughts on AI last nite ?

It turned out as I thought it would ! Poor Elliott - he was so emotional- "happy tears" as he said. Even just watching his home-coming, he was all choked up, he sure thinks the world of his Mom !!
Katharine did not have much of a home-coming, I suppose when you actually live in Hollywood- she is a nothing compared to the celeb's that live there !
I am still rooting for my man- Taylor (lol- I almost called him Jason again!) I can't wait for next week !
That is my 2 cents worth---- how bout yours ????

Well, that's what I expected to happen, but I wish it hadn't. I just really like Elliott as a person. His cousin started a site for him--yaminmachine.com.
I loved seeing all their hometown visits. I thought Katharine's song was real good. Elliott's, too. he does more the kind of music I like--R&B, jazz & blues. I'm not a pop music fan.

Well, I guess that is why you proabably don't like Taylor--because he is mostly pop music!
I also like Elliott - he seemed like a real nice like-able kind of guy- with a great voice! The talent in the top 10, on this AI has been awesome! Katharine also has a wonderful voice- but something about her drives me nuts- she strikes as stuck on herself & dramatic & plays to the camera way too much. But I know that is what "they" look for in an idiol, but that is my thought!! I know I am probably the only one here that thinks that way- but --- oh well, that is what makes the world go round, lol !
Can't wait till next week !
Thanks for the link, Katz.
I hope Elliott has a flourishing music career.
I'll definitely buy his CD.
I was sad to see him go, especially considering I have no idea why Taylor is still in this. He's entertaining to watch, no doubt, but if you take away the dancing (can you really call what he does...dancing?) and the antics and, well, I never heard that great voice that the judges talked about. You can't see the man perform when you're listening to him on the radio, ipod, or a cd.
When Taylor sang You Are So Beautiful, I kept thinking, "who is he singing to.....himself?" I thought it looked odd, his strange facial expressions. It should have looked tender, made women swoon and wish that he was singing directly to them. Then I read this quote in Television Without Pity.
"Simon once called Mandissa indulgent, which really captures how I feel when I watch a performer who forgets me and does his thang. It's really only a few steps below masturbation, only without the money shot."

So perfect!

Kat doesn't live in Hollywood per se ..
It was great to see both her & Elliot with their families like that.
Whatever happens now at this point they both (many) will have careers doing what they want.
This reminds me of Bo & Carrie big time :)

I was so sad to see Elliott go :(
"Katharine also has a wonderful voice- but something about her drives me nuts- she strikes me as stuck on herself & dramatic & plays to the camera way too much. "
You're not alone Bunny, I totally agree with you on this.
Ooohhhhh Karyn, I am soooo glad I am not the only one that thinks that! I think we are the only two here who thinks that way! To me she is just way too full of herself-- then she tries to act humble & surprised-- OH PALEEZZZEEE !!!
Yes, Elliott was so very sincere- perhaps too sincere-- I don't think he could have made it in the cut-throat celeb-scene!
Well, we shall see what happens next week ! I wish I could get to vote more often- I only got to vote once in the whole time allotted! urghhh!
i love joe cocker! noone can do him justice and taylors imitations of him are comical!! i do not think he is big concert material...maybe a vegas show or something like that. he is just too stiff and always looks uncomfortable. if he wins it is up to clive davis to make him a hit! i think the others will have a bigger career than taylor.
that brings me to kat. i felt bad for her for randy's comment on bad choice of song and then applauded her for reminding him she did not pick the song.i loved her tone when telling him. yeah to simon for sticking up for kat!! she gave me chills sing "over the rainbow" i liked the song she sang wednesday show...she should have done that in the contest on tuesday night...oh well.
i was sad to see elliott go but someone had to go. he is a really good singer and i like his style. i noticed the audience booed again. not as loud as they did for chris but they booed.
i liked the homecoming visits. that was nice. i can't believe "the arnold" snubbed kat. the other two govenors visited the idols! but that must be the way it is in out there. in small towns noone is too busy for a hometown celebrity!
i hope kat wins :O) but who ever does not win will still get a good producer and have good career.
