I am invited to a tea party (picnic) at a person's house that I know slightly.   She is an american living in Ankara and wants me to possibly join the Ankara Women's club.....  There will be many members of that club there.   The picnic is a pot luck.  She said that since it was my first time , I don't have to bring anything.   but of course I will.  I couldn't go empty handed!

any suggetions ... I have no clue what these women eat, how they cook (not all americans) , and what types of food s they would want to see on the table ......    need suggestion....

I was thinking a simple fruit platter with sliced watermelon, cantalope and strawberries.      Or I was consdiering  buying some fresh strawberries and dipping the tips in melted chocolate and bringing a plate of those.....        helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Ds and dh think i should just go to the best bakery in town and buy some really nice cookies........

I would bring the fruit and melon plate, without the chocolate, or the plate of cookies.

I think the fresh fruit platter would be great ! It is probably too late for my inppput now- as you are more than likely sitting there now w/ your friend munching on the fruit.

Do tell us how you made out.

Oh, I'm sure you will be fine! Ask your friend if you help serving the food, or in the kitchen, something to keep you occupied & I'm sure the others will start up a conversation. You can do it- I have faith in you!!

I will be sending positive vibes your way !!

Hugs !!\
