The end of the school year.
When did this start, not wanting but wanting the school year to end? I'm not sure. All I know is it means my daughter's are a year older and closer to grewing up.
My oldest will be a Junior in High school and my "baby" will be off to Middle school ( 6th grade)
Next summer at this time you'll all have to listen to my crying and whining as my "baby" as she well be almost 18 yo and onto her last year of High school.
For those who have gone through it can you give my some advice? My heart is breaking now just thinking about it. She wont be going away for College but it'll be a milestone year for us both.

It will be really hard at first.
5 of my six have now gotten thier own lives.
I think what mad it easier for me was helping them set up thier new homes and visiting often.
It gets easier as time goes on

Know how you feel hon ..
At first it is just plain hard but does get easier with time.
I suggest you try to enjoy every minute you can with tem.
Not only that but remember to pick your battles
Look at it as another stage .. they do get better too :)
Oh such milestones !!! I remember having 4 graduating from high school 1 every 2 years & my neices & nephews next door- were in between my kids (4 kids also). It was party central here on our street for years !
Not much advice, but I will tell you that you will cry !! I seemed like yesterday when I was putting them on the bus for kindergaten! snif-sniff !
Wait till the weddings---oh my !! more tears! Then watch you grandchildren come into the world & hear thier first cry! many, many more tears !! NEVER ENDS !! lol
I would not change a thing at all- & I'm sure you'll feel the same way!
Good luck to all !!
Hi Paula,
I just resigned from the cl for the Empty Nest Board where I spent the past couple of years, you might consider gong over there to see how others prepare themselves way ahead of time for their empty nest.
i feel your pain. i am on the last year for mybaby! seeing all these college brochures stacked on the table is odd. he was just graduating from prek...LOL
i'll need a years supply of kleenex to get through the next year!!
i was the same way when justin graduated 3 years ago.
