She is doing really well, she's seeing a councelor she is comfortable talking to which helps enormously. DS went to spend the summer working with my dad, so she's enjoying being an only child for the summer. She and I talk more, although we have our moments. I think those moments are more about me having a hard time cutting the ambilical chord or at least loosening it a bit, lol. I have to remind myself that we all outgrow our parents to a point, not telling them everything that is gowing on, but good grief it stings watching my little girl grow up.

My son will be joining the Army in August and will leave after graduation next May, so I suppose some of the things I'm feeling is a sense of loss with both my kids.

As far as DD coming out, I post questions on the Lesbian Life board and they are really kind with their answers and help me through some of the acceptance of DD.

Thanks for caring enough to ask, I've felt welcomed here at this board and feel blessed I found it.

Have a Great Weekend...Blessings

mickey,

how nice you two get to spend time alone. glad to hear she likes her counselor...that is a big help. hugs to you both and prayers that you will become closer.
even your little boy is grown up! will he come visit? is he doing his boot camp this year before going in or just signed up early?

yes the teen years are a joy...aren't they? it is sad to see them grow up and have their own life.

have a great weekend
pat

Your post helped out tremendously, because there are days I wonder if what I'm feeling is even healthy, lol. The only people I know in person with teens is my In-Laws and well they don't fully understand because thier teens decided after graduation to go to college close by and live at home. So they're not very helpful with the feelings you described. I do worry most about his decisions and such, but as you said all we can do is hope they learned from the things we taught them.

He'll being signing early then going to boot camp in May of next year, I'm hoping that his first duty station is here in the states so that if he does have a problem we can help him out. It would be difficult if he was overseas to help. I'm thinking if he can stay in the states at least a couple of years I'd feel better, simply because he will only be 17 when he goes in. He'll turn 18 3 months later, but that's still so young.

I'm sure you guys will be reading my teary eyed post when he signs the papers in August, so be prepared, lol.

(((hugs)))

mickey
it seems i cried the whole year through when my oldest~ justin~ graduated. it was starnge when he went to nh for college..even though he was with family. he came back last year! now i have started all over with jeremy. i have been getting that feeling just looking at the stack of college brochures.part of me is saying "yes" when he talks of staying local.but i do realize he needs to get out and away on his own.

i just pray for your son and all the others this war is over by next year. so that he may stay stateside. i have always thought it terrible they leave for boot camp right after graduation.

Oh how I wish he would go to college, in fact he'll be eligible for an rotc scholarship. That was his first intention because you have to be an officer or at least a warrant officer to fly, but his eye sight will keep him from flying so he's going in as air traffic control.

The only thing that makes me feel better is that his basic training and AIT(specialty training) will be close by in Alabama, hopefully by then I'll have worked through my motherly fears, lol.
