Haven't been around much the past few days. Ethan has been sick. We had to go to urgent care on Sat. twice. First time, he had a fever over 102 and was vomiting. Dr. said he looked "ok" and to call if his fever should rise. Well, by 12:30, his fever was almost 104! Yikes. So, back in we went. A bunch of tests were done (blood taken, a cathader (sp?) to get sample to check for a UTI...OUCH!) And nothing. So, Dr. says if he still has a fever by Mon, bring him back in. All weekend his fever was between 102 and 104...he didn't sleep unless DH or I were holding him. (So, we didn't really sleep much either!)
By Mon. morning, still had a fever, so in we go to the Dr. She looks in his mouth and says, "Oh my, he has about 20-some blisters in his throat." YUCK! He has the coxsakie (sp?) virus (AKA hand, foot, mouth disease...) It's a virus that causes blisters in his mouth/throat, on his hands and feet. Since it's a virus, there is nothing he can take for it. Poor little guy :(
He finally slept through the night last night in his crib! (First time since Thursday night of last week) And he is taking a nap right now....phew! Hopefully he is starting to feel better!!
Thanks for letting me vent about my sick kiddo *wink*

OH amber that is scary....
Not sure how he caught it.
Sorry to hear about poor Ethan hon :(
Think I ac tually remember something like that when my guys were little.
Kind of normal, common isn't it?
Poor baby ::sigh::
No doubt it has hurt you as much as him
Just hate it when our little ones are sick .. and nothing to do but hold them.
Glad he slept last night .. & now .. you should too, LOL
Here is hoping he is on the mend & he feels much better real soon :)
OMG- Poor baby boy !!! High Temps always scare me! Glad he seems to be a bit better! A big plus on sleeping in his crib!! Hopefully tonite too-- so Mom & Dad can get some well deserved sleep! They are so pitiful when they are so sick & clinging onto you! I can relate our babies (my GS) are almost the same age I think 6 weeks difference !
Hopefully, he is on the mend! Keep us informed- as to his progress! Give Ethan a big hug from "Gramma Bunny" !! lol
Gramma
Thanks, Hugs :)
I think this virus is pretty common and very contagious among little kids....and it takes 7-10 days to run it's course.
Thanks, "Gramma"
