How have the soaring gas prices affected your summer plans? (Please choose one.

  • We've cancelled our vacation - we can barely afford to go around the corner!
  • We're flying to our destination instead of taking our yearly drive, it's cheaper
  • We're scaling back our vacation activities to make up for the cost of driving.
  • No change in plans - no matter what it costs, we're getting in the car.

You will be able to change your vote.

we still run around doing things even tho the price of gas in Boston is around $3.05 a gallon! How insane- but life goes on! I bet after summer is over- the prices will strangely start to dip downwards! maybe- maybe not- but that is my thoughts !!

When we were in NY/NE recently, the highest we paid was in NY--$3.33/gal. for regular! Yikes! I came home to $2.73 here. Big difference! Now it's $2.87 at my cheap place.

I'm about to get the money I inherited from my mom. I'm going to run right out & buy a Toyota Prius hybrid before the $3,000 tax credit expires. Yippee!

Hi, the gas prices are higher in NY- always have been! Good for you on buying a new car. Now do those hybrid cars go slower that traditional cars? That would drive me crazy- I like power when I trop on the pedal! lol

Voted we'll fly,
Would prefer an *other*
Most often we don't let gas prices rule what we want to do.
That being said we don't drive for vacations anymore :)

I test-drove one a long time ago & didn't notice any lack of pickup. Of course, they don't encourage you to test drive on a highway. But I might this time. Just to see how it goes up an on-ramp & goes into thhe flow of traffic.

I'm not one to care a lot about pickup. The Toyota hybrid has 4 cylinders, same as my current Toyota. The Honda hybrid only has 3.

Oh since you already have a Toyota- you will not notice a big difference- that will be good for you ! I was reading in another post of yours that you will probably have to order the car-- I am surprised that they are so popular!

We come from a family of "gear heads' lol love sound, smell and feel of power--sound of a turbo hemi or a Harley all done up is music to my ears !! lol Plus we have 2 turbo deisel trucks-- don't enjoy the smell of deisel !

Good luck to you with your new car- hope you don't have to wait too long to receive it !

Gas prices dont bother me,it's still cheaper here in the U.S.A. than back home in England.

The pickup is of course important if you do some speedway driving
