I had a hysterectomy when I was 26, but I still have my ovaries. I started going thru menopause about 1 1/2 years ago & have recently gone from only night sweats to horrible hot flashes during the day. I keep a hand fan at my desk. My gyn just recommended a natural progesterone(no estrogen) cream that i've only been using for a week, so far there's been no change, but it could take awhile so i'll keep using it.

I developed a hormonal imbalance at 48, & after a D&C, stopped getting my period. I've only gotten fairly mild, occasional hot flashes since then. :o) When it started & was worse, I took Remifemin & it really worked (took a while, like you say). Expensive. :o( But now it's so mild I don't take anything. No night sweats or other symptoms, thank goodness.

No I haven't tried the Remifemin. If this progesterone cream doesn't work I'll give it a try. Thanks for the advice. :)
