Ideas on how to get blood out of clothes

Hi Ladies :o)
Ethan had a bloody nose on the plane earlier today, and of course I didn't have a Kleenex, and of course we were on the runway to take off, so I couldn't even ask for a napkin. I grabbed a bib, but not before he got blood all over his shirt and pants.
Any ideas what is the best thing to use to get blood stains out? Thanks for your help :o)

I always soak in a bucket of cold water with lots of salt, works for me.

>>Well, gotta go, have to write to the Hefty bag people.
Have used cold water before ..
Hopefully soaking it for a while will work.
Let us know how it turns out :)
Thanks for all of your suggestions :o)
That's cute :o)
