I cut my pansies down to the first leaf (hope it wasn't too much) and I watered them with fertilizer water.  Will they really come back??  They're in big hanging baskets close to my house, but this is Wisconsin - will they really grow slowly during the winter and come back in Spring?? The way they look now, I'm doubtful, lol.  Or, would it be better to put them in my attached garage for the winter?  The temp would be cold but not as cold as outside, but it would be pretty dark - would the dark hurt them? Would they still come back?  Or would being outside in the WI snow, ice and, sometimes, way below 0 temps - but having the daylight be better?

I'm so clueless about plants, I shouldn't be allowed to have them!
