In the last 2 days I've reconnected w/2 old friends from my college- and post-college days. :O) One is an old BF-turned-friend, Tom, from about 22 years ago. We haven't talked in a few years, but never fail to pick up where we left off. :) Then he gave me a link to an online radio show hosted by Bonnie, the woman who originally introduced Tom & me, & who was one of my college roommates. Bonnie & Tom are both blind, & she hosts a book-discussion show on an internet radio station for blind people. You can talk live on the radio through the mike on your puter, so Bonnie & I talked briefly. She was SO excited & surprised to hear from me! Then I listened to an hour-long interview w/her on the radio. Man! So much has happened in her life in the last 30 years. She has a 21-yo son, her BF died, her twin died of AIDS, she lost everything in a fire, & is hoping to publish a book. I emailed her & am waiting excitedly to hear from her. So much to catch up on. :) And my life has been so dull & boring, but w/much less heartache, compared to hers.
I'm excited! It brings back old memories, & am glad to be back in touch w/Tom. We have always talked so easily. And now we can chat by email all the time. :) He worked as a computer programmer for the state for about a million years & took early retirement (Ah! That government-employee life!) some years ago. Now he's a complete hermit, but stays in touch w/the world via puter & radio.

How very neat to have reconnected with your two friends.
Always nice & brings back memories as well.
A blast from your past
Interesting on that radio show, wow, quite impressive really.
Boy she sure has a lot happen , how sad though.
I'm glad you were able to connect with both.
Any chance of getting together with either in the future?
You're lucky Katz .. I am happy for you :)

No, I don't plan to see either of them. Although Tom doesn't live very far from me, he's such a hermit that it's better for us to just talk & email. And Bonnie lives in Ohio--quite a drive.
Bonnie's immediate memory of me, that she mentioned on the show, was that I did most of the cooking in the house that a bunch of us shared. And that many nights they all sat around starving, waiting for me to decide what to make. ROFL. I was like the Mom of the house. Very different from what I am now. I barely remember that. But Bonnie is like Tom, in that she has a perfect memory. LOL. My immediate memory of her was that one day she got lost wandering around our college town because she was wandering around w/her transistor radio glued to her ear, listening to her beloved Phillies in a playoff game. They were losing, & she became so despondent she lost track of where she was. LOL.

Oh how much fun to re-connect w/ friends & stir up so many old memories! Is'nt it funny how you pick up like not a month has passed you by.
I have a friend since we were 4 yrs old- she had moved to Colorado- we kept in touch- in spurts- talked on phone for hours- literally! Then she moved to Florida, we are still talking about our ole school days & old boyfriends & the things we got into! Really fun to walk down memory lane- huh ?
Hope you 3 keep in touch- nothing like old friends!
Ahh those were the days now :)

You will have so much to catch up with now.
Enjoy each other.
