I would've loved to have been an author. I have loved to read since I was able to read. When I was in the 6th grade I decided to write a kids book. I was so proud of myself & my book & couldn't wait to read it to the class. Boy was that a mistake! Nobody liked it & the teacher ( what an inspiration) picked it apart & made fun of it. My heart was broken that day, not to mention the embarrasment of being made fun of by the whole school. I will never forget that teacher, Mr. Seagul, at the end of the year he told me he only did it because I had great potential. Well it was a little to late now.I'll stick to just reading the books & not writing them.
My daughter writes beautiful poetry & has been published a couple of times. She hid this from me for years. I found her journal one day & saw hundreds of poems that she'd written for years. I keep trying to talk her into taking a writing class with me. Maybe one day :)
