i'm back!

we got back from our honeymoon yesterday. i was too busy to post though- we unpacked, went through things, took care of bills that needed to get mailed out etc.

the wedding went smoothly. nothing went wrong, that i know of. i'll be honest, the church part of it is kind of a blur to me. when my dad walked me down the aisle, i saw all the people, but i couldn't tell you who they were. i didn't register it, lol. besides, my focus was on tim waiting at the alter for me. you know how the father kisses the bride, then shakes the groom's hand? well, my dad told tim "good luck and no returns", lol.

the ceremony was like a regular mass with the readings, gospel, communion etc. the homily was very nice. we didn't know what he was going to say, but we were happy with it. our moms were surprised with our unity roses at the sign of peace. and we did the polish tradition of giving roses to mary to bless us.

when the ceremony was over, i still couldn't really tell who was in the pews. all i saw were flashes from cameras in every direction when we were walking out! we got to the back of the church, hid in a side room and waited til all the guests were out. then we went outside, and bubbles were flying every where....and flashes as well!

we took some pics in church, outside of church by the fountain, then the rest were at delaware park. it started to rain a little when we got there, but we were able to get all the pics done. we went to mcdonalds after for a little something, to our apt to eat, then to the reception.

the reception was a lot of fun! i wasn't really hungry though, but what i did eat was yummy. we did our dances (1st dance, father/daughter, mother/son, wedding party) and a few dances where everyone could dance before cutting the cake. we were going to be nice and not smash it, but that changed and i got tim good!! we danced some more, then did the bouquet & garter toss.

everyone we talked and that our parents talked to said they were having a good time, that the food was good. the music was good, the ceremony was nice etc....

the DJ was good - playing what we listed, taking requests etc. and the photographer was a lot of fun. he even joined in on the dancing!

our honeymoon was a lot of fun! we drove to PA, and we left monday....we were running about 2 hrs late, but that was no big deal. it took about 5 hrs to get to the poconos. it was a nice drive.

we stayed at the paradise stream resort. our room was nice - a round bed, dual head shower for 2, heart shaped jacuzzi, a pool, a fireplace, TV/VCR/DVD combo, bose radio. and the resort itself was fun. there were themes each day and scheduled events that you can participate in if you wanted, and then different entertainment in the night club each evening.

we didn't really do anything monday. we unpacked, ate dinner, went in the pool, watched tv and went to bed. but the rest of the days, we were busy doing it all! throughout the week we took a carriage ride, went horseback riding, went paddle boating, played video games & pool, archery, took a walk on the trail. we also did arts & crafts - one day was bracelet making & the other was picture frame decorating.

we stayed there til friday. check out was at 11am, but we were able to stay til 5 to do things. it was raining that day though, so we decided to check out the mall & the outlets. we also went to the cheesecake factory - yummy!

then we drove to the inn we were staying at in jonestown, PA. that was about 1.5 hrs from the poconos and about 1/2 hr away from hershey. we got there, settled in, went to eat dinner at quiznos, drove around, had some DQ, then headed back to the room. we watched tv then went to bed.

saturday, we spent all day in hershey, PA. the chocolate smelled to good in the air!! we went to the zoo, the gardens & butterfly house, the museum and chocolate world. it was all fun. we were thinking of going to the amusement park, but decided that since we didn't have a lot of time left (and the fact that it cost $45 a person to get in), we'll make a vacation out of it next year. so after spending the day in hershey, we ate dinner and went back to our room. spent the night, and drove back home on sunday.

while on our honeymoon, i got a call from the photographer that our digital disc is ready to be picked up. we're getting that either today or tomorrow.....so i'll be posting pics soon!

Kim,

Giving flowers to the Virgin Mary isn't just a Polish tradition ;-) I'm Hispanic and Catholic. I too, gave flowers to the Virgin Mary and I asked her to bless me with children; even though I knew my huband had a low sperm count and couldn't father children (according to the "fertility specialist"). Well, we married on 29 May 04 and baby Stefan was born on 27 Apr 06 :-)

Keep praying to the Virgin Mary for anything you need. She'll answer your prayers.

Good luck and congrats on your marriage and welcome back!

Eva
