You're Chronically Disorganized
If you've been disorganized in the past, have tried to change on your own and forecast similar unsuccessful results in your future, you may suffer from chronic disorganization.
Some conditions can coexist with chronic disorganization, such as depression, attention deficit disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder. These conditions may or may not be present in an individual with chronic disorganization. They can exacerbate the living and working situation of the individual with chronic disorganization.

Hmmmmm, I'd consider myself pretty organized. Some of those questions didn't give me a choice of what my answer would be. I HATE having a messy desk, cluttered kitchen counters and dishes in the sink. I'm a neat freak, so I keep things well organized.
You're Situationally Disorganized
Sometimes our circumstances just get the best of us. At work and at home we encounter situations that invite disorder. Things might be going along fine, and then all of a sudden we are inundated by some event or project. When something happens that we did not anticipate or prepare for, we can find ourselves the victims of our circumstances. Many people by nature are very organized, but unexpected disorder arrives and causes situational disorganization.
Knowing that a precipitating event caused your disorder takes a lot of the pressure off of you. Many people look around at their clutter and feel ashamed. They wonder why they can't get it together. But the disorder that surrounds you is not your fault. You didn't plan for the life change that caused it, whether that's a job change, death in the family, divorce, etc. Therefore, you can dig out of your situational disorganization and reclaim your life.

You're Habitually Disorganized
Some people need help redirecting their behavior. Whether you're a stasher, stacker, piler, spreader, stuffer or hider, there are a million bad organizing habits, and we've all indulged in some of them from time to time.
