i'm ok....

i'm sure buffalo, NY/ western NY made the news with our (thunder & lightning) snow storm that hit oct 12th-13th.
lake effect rain turned into wet & heavy snow and since the trees didn't loose their leaves, the weight of the snow brought down a lot of limbs/branches, and in some cases, whole trees. and as a result of that, wires were torn down, and we experienced power outages.
we had a big tree fall on our street. we thought at first it was struck by lightning....but later on, we found out it was just too unstable due to the gas company cutting the roots when they dug up a couple of times over the summer, and the tree was rotting as well. so with the weight of the snow, it fell. no one was hurt, but it did crush a pickup truck.
our power went out about 6:15pm oct 12th and we just got it back today (oct 18) at about 12:30pm. it wasn't too bad without power, just boring since we obviously had no TV, internet etc. the nights were cold, but tolerable. it would have been worse if it were the middle of winter with freezing temps.
so i just wanted to let everyone know that i'm doing OK....
here are a cpuple of pics from the storm: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67288890@N00/sets/72157594298632593/detail/

Ok Kimmie, I wondered whether you were affected being in buffalo.....
yep - 6 days without power!
i'm unemployed, so i'm always off from work :oP
but on friday, there was a driving ban since there were trees & wires down all over, and roads were unplowed as well. so tim & my parents didnt go to work.
i'm not too sure if rochester was affected by the storm or not. sorry!
