My sympathies, Sportymom. It opens today, right? How far is it from you? Did it bring in a lot of jobs?
There was very briefly talk of putting one right in our business district. Can't imagine what that would have been like.
For you others--FYI. The first PA slots parlor opens in a resort area today. :(

Oh dear on the slot parlor ..
Guess if it helps with more jobs though ..
Appreciate you letting us know :)
pocono downs is about an hour away. i voted against them all along.the gov was hellbent on putting in casinos and slots even tho they were voted against.it will only bring in higher taxes not lower and more crime.
other slots will be put in the pocono ceasar resorts eventually. now...isn't that great for a family vacation? the sad part is there is one being allowed to be built within a mile of an elemetary school.they have no idea how much they just ruined the poconos. new york, atlantic city and conneticut is close enough.people can go there to gamble.
oh...more jobs were created. do you know how many were about minimum wgae? most!! woopie!
did you see rendell wants to raise the gas stax 11 cents? too fix the roads.it is already starting
i best get off my soap box before i don't stop ranting!!

Yuk. I remember the Poconos as eing so peaceful and pretty. Can't imagine what a mess that will create.
Yeah, that road tax bites, doesn't it? And PA still has the worst roads in the nation.

My health is the same. I'll eventually go see the Dr. again to see if we can fix this.
WW just left for a conference & will be gone the rest of the week! Yea! Things haven't changed much there. Sigh.
I might get here more this week, since I'm not real busy & WW is dead, uh, gone. ;o)
