Anyone have a GO phone from Cingular?

I'm not happy with my cell phone and have to get a new one.  My plan is okay, although it's through an online place and an offshoot of some other company, but I saw the GO Phone would give me lots more hours (over twice as many) for only 4 dollars more and it sounds like the other stuff is the same. And there is a Cingular place here in town, if I want to talk face to face with someone.  My dd has Cingular - one of their regular plans - and likes it, but I wondered:

If you have this GO phone plan, do you like it?

Is the coverage good?

Do you get free roaming and long distance?

If you switched to this from another plan, could you keep your old number?

Sorry, not much help here either, but my son has Cingular as a carrier & he has had no problems (he has the Razor phone)

I have Verizon (for many years) & love it, great reception- never a dropped call.

Good luck w/ your search for info on the GO phone.

we have the prepaid one, we got the phone for like 30 bucks i think ..then someone sat on my phone so I ended up getting the 25 dollar Go phone and gave it to my son(to let me knwo when hes done with practice) and just switched the chip out..the only prob with that one is its cheaply made but do not have a problem at all getting calls or making them..the long distance is covered, voice mails, caller id...we pay 44 a month for both phones a piece(dh still has his phone from when we got it, paid 20 dollars for his and its a nice one) 200 daytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends..id say overall even with the cheap phone its good to have in case of an emergency..if cingular wasnt butts about their deposits(said even with dh's good credit that we had to put down a 800 dollar deposit, which in turn we laughed at them) we wouldve gotten the account set up with them...overall they are good and their customer service is really great ;)
