I'm back home to Germany, took the 6 am flight.... nice to get here early, but getting up at 3:30 am is a bear. ugh...   I lost weight while I was there,,  hmm about close to 8 lbs....  too busy, horrendous diet, not eating at all during the hectic day....  then too tired to eat,,, and then the coughing from my bronchitis,,, that got better, the dr gave me an inhaler (Pat,  you know that treatment from your ds) ,  but then I had to go and sign the order for the new  kitchen , and the architect had a horrible cold,,, and of course now I've cuaght that ... and the bronchitis is coming BACK.   so after doing a tad bit of grocery shopping for the next couple days so I can stay home... and a load of laundry, and a lunch at Thai restaurant ; I'm in my pj's trying to catch up here.....

We did make progress finally with the new condo construction...  the marble floor in the kitchn, entry way and guest toilet was polished on Saturday. (Amazing how all the other workers would just throw crap and tools and paint, and old ripped out tiles, and dirt on to the marble....  it did however shine up nicely, a tad bit slippery. Anyway, the bathroom vanities , sinks , toilets faucets were installed.  The new front door was installed,,,, a tremendous amount of work (9 hours), jack hammering out the old door frame in solid cement and moving the opening over to the left about 6 inches...  It does look nice though.... not quite finished,,, it's a door that a bull dozer could not plow down... so safe.  The final coat of shellac to the wood floors was made.  The new radiators were installed, no easy job either as the pipes did not match the old ones... (of course).    The mnost exciting part was on Saturday evening.... when dh and I went to a furniture designer and he helped us design furniture for  7 rooms....  (Still have one room to do but that will have to wait , as I don't know what to utilize the room for.)  We went beserk designing couches and tables and end tables, chairs, Tv stands, coffee tables, arm chairs..   selecting fabrics.....  hmmm I have this thing for wanting /buying one of a kind furniture. it was fun....  So that order is in..... don't know the price yet ,,,, nor the delivery but hey.... rome wasn't built in a day....

So whats up with you all?

how was the weekend, plans for the week, are you glad the holiday is over?

you too bunny, take it easy..... so many things that "just have to get done" .... that's the whole root of the problem.

Susan,
You have me beat! My DH proposed after about 6 weeks and we were married less than 6 months after we met. We've been married for over 14 years.

Do you miss the USA?

I've never been out of the country, but I do love to travel. You may not remember, but in June I went to New Jersey/New York with my DD-age 24. You advised me to stick to NY (which I had never been to.) We had such a great time. I went there because she had a job interview in Princeton, NJ. She got the job and moved out there with her DH in August. I went back out to visit her in early Nov. Once again, we spent a couple days in NY. Both trips we went shopping in Chinatown for the fake handbags. That was an adventure! (I imagine you buying the real thing!) I remember you saying that you lived there for awhile. Must have been exciting.

Also, I recall Hugs saying that she may take a trip to NY. Has that happened yet?

Wow on the condo construction! Sounds wonderful. I'd be in heaven if I could do all of that & design my own furniture. I'm sure it will all be very beautiful.

I just went back to work today after being on vacation since the 15th. I was really hoping to win the lotto during my time off, but that didn't happen. I had a much needed relaxing, peaceful time. My dh didn't get time off as he recently changed jobs & lost his vacation time. That was a bummer, but I really just needed time for myself anyway. I spent time with my dad fishing & shopping with my mom. I visited my aunt who lives a couple of hours away. And pretty much just stopped and smelled the roses everyday. Oh what wonderful bliss. I thought I would be bored & really anxious to get back to work. WRONG!! I could retire right now & be happier than a pig in the mud!! I would be a poor pig in the mud though , so I guess I'll just keep on working.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving :)
