I guess I am among the very few that love fruit cake--home made that is !
I voted for "love it" if it's home made. And we are talking about a regular baked banana nut, raisin bread then add: red and green "cherries", walnuts, pecans, dates, cranberries, etc, etc, etc, the MORE the merrier! :-)
I HATE the round, cheap, tinned fruit cake. It has many ingredients to keep it fresh even after frozen and one cannot compare to the "fresh" homemade ingredients :-)

I voted that I love it.....especially the olde fashioned kind that gramma used to make, and she followed a recipe that was scribbled out on a piece of paper, now yellowed with age. Fruit cake was a staple back in olden days, for it contained all the good bits of leftover dried foods, much like old fashioned mincemeat, with everything combined together for a rich, heavy, palatable desert food that satisfied the appetite.
