Well, it's a start

I got off work late tonight (hashing over some issues with the boss) and had to grocery shop. Usual track would be that I'd say , "Oh, the (Hades) with it" and head to the convenience store for some beer and then the drive-through for dinner.
Instead I went to the store and bought some real groceries. None of them were very good choices, but I bought what I thought was just sparkling water (shoulda read the label -- it has aspartame in it) instead of the beer.
So it's Friday night and I'm not having either fast food or alcohol, which is very unusual. By the end of the week I'm usually wrung out and don't feel much like cooking. And the way I was raised, the adults drank all night -- it was just what they did. I never (well, very rarely) have more than two, but two beers or glasses of wine a night can add up.
Okay, so that's a lot less calories, and a few more cents in the Ireland Fund.

Good for you (((hugs)))
I know what you mean. But for me, it's usually cookies & milk, w/the occasional takeout. LOL.
I tried one of those fruity waters once, because I drink a lot of water & thought a flavor might be a nice change. I, too, should have read the label. Aspartame! Yuk! Aftertaste. :( Back to tap water for me.
And all that "convenience" really adds up to money.
