Smoke smell in Pillows

My Husband bought some pillows today. The plastic bags were open. By the time he got home they smell like cigarette smoke. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for your help.

Mari

Can you hang them outside?? on a line or clipped to the deck railing??

I put A.J.'s(my sons) coat outside when he comes over...that usually gets rid of most of the smoky smell. If this doesn't work through them in the washer. i just wash mine on warm and throuigh them in the dryer. I was the pillows at least oncew a year this way. Just make sure the pillows have no holes, brittle material or poorly made seams first. the are usually fluffy when i take them out...unless the dryer was cramped...then you may have to dry seperatly.

All good advice here, but I would just take them back to the store and get different ones.

I don't think they will take them back. Since they smell like smoke.

Believe me they will take them back if you put up a fuss. I work retail and we take things back that you wouldn't ever thought you could take back.

Think you all for your help. My niece has some Lilac Febreeze. I really like the smell. I am going to buy some of that. I will let you know if it works.
