I watched Martha Stewart today and learned something interesting about pets and thunder. Now when there is a thunderstorm and your cat or dog are scared silly and go into hiding it is not because they are scared. It is because during a thunderstorm there is a lot of static electricity in the air and their fur coats act as a static magnet and you know what it feels like when you touch someone's finger and you get a quick static electric shock ? Well they feel it even more pronounced. So to help them out ,,,, when the thunderstorm starts just take a piece of non scented dryer sheets and rub it over there fur and voila no static and no scared pet.
Had to share that bit of info.. and if anyone ever tries it,, pls let me know if it worked... I'm curious,, we don't get thunderstorms here...

That's very interesting.
I will have to remember that.
Thank's.

Wow..that is a great tip!! Very interesting information too!
Now I just hope I remember the next time we get a T storm!
Our oldest furkid is terrified of storms.
Not so sure this would help her though ..
She sits & shakes & paces :(
Good news is ..
Since she has gotten a bit deaf she doesn't hear the thunder *quite* like before :)
I don't know if I buy that theory. My dog was afraid of the thunder, not the actual storm. He was fine until he'd hear thunder, then he'd hide. And the louder it got, the more afraid he was.
