Celebrating Xmas at Thanksgiving

I need help/suggestions on the following:
Our family has always had a VERY traditional Thanksgiving and Xmas. This year I need to celebrate both holidays on Thanksgiving. (I leave for a new job the day after Thanksgiving.) How would you decorate and celebrate Xmas on the same day. My grown up kids are not especially happy about this as it disrupts their sense of what holidays have been. Would you celebrate Xmas the Sunday before? I really need suggestions!!
Thanks!!

Welcome to the board :)
Well I believe Donna another person here will be doing something simliar like you.
She may have some ideas for you so do check back.
I would decorate the house for both Thanksgiving & Xmas ..
If you can celebrate them separately like that sure why not ..
However it may be easier to do them both on the same day.
Your meal is the easiest oart I would think.
So you'll have gifts that day too .. kind of fun.
Even the grown up kids can see it as fun hopefully
Let us know how it goes ..

Is it a Diet or a Healthy Lifestyle that works for you ?
Hi Didi! Yes, Hugs is right in that my family and I will be celebrating Christmas too on Thanksgiving Day. We've never done this before. My DD2 & family are temporarily living in another state and will only be here for Tday and not Christmas, so we're combining the holidays.
I'm going to put up the traditional Christmas tree, nativity, lighted reindeer on the front lawn, and more. The dining table will be more like Thanksgiving though in that I'll use a plain tablecloth instead of the Christmas printed one and I'll use a Thanksgiving centerpiece. We'll have traditional turkey dinner.
