AAHAAA the day for Whines and WooHoos.....think I'm ready!

WHINES-- Okay so my biggest whine is, On Monday I say my Kidney Specialist and he increased my dosage of diuretic from 20mg to 80mg! By today I should be seeing a huge difference in the swelling right??---NOT! My right leg is more swollen then ever! From my toes to top of my thighs it's enormous! Call into Dr. but it will be afternoon before we hear from him. gggrrrr

WOOHOO--This is wonderful! My brother called and he and Julie would like to visit ans spend Thanksgiving with us! I can't tell you how excited I am...been close to 2 years since we've been together! Both of us have been through so much medically this past year Ijust now it's really important to be with eachother this T'giving! OPur wonderful daqughter, Michelle has already said she wants to host the day at her home and she and Tim want to cook the dinner from scratch!---she will let Julie and I bring a few side dishes and dessert...but otherwise we are THEIR GUESTS! She will extend an invite to son and family but knowing them they will no doubt decline! (Sherill has a difficult time on this day...as her Mom died on this day just before she was married the following January. She has had a problem getting over this).

OHHH...I'm still not hearing from anybody in the SandBox....not sure if it's me or if it's an iVillage problem....any of you gals having problems?

No big whine, just feeling a little restless and blue.

My whoo hoo is that the first of the things I ordered online for Christmas gifts arrived today. Now to hope it's what dh wants (he wants things that I haven't a clue how they work or what they should look like).

Hi Bree, several people here, and elsewhere on IVillage, had trouble receiving reply notices via email. They went into their board settings and unclicked the box allowing email notifications, then scrolled down and clicked submit. Then they went back and rechecked email notifications for replies again and then scrolled down and clicked submit again and the problem is fixed. Try that if you're still not getting your email notifications.

Darn on that leg swelling! That sounds really uncomfortable! I hope you get relief soon.

It sounds like you're going to have an extra special Thanksgiving this year. Enjoy!

Awww..Fran, I so wish I could swish a magic wand and make that "fluffy" problem go away. Terrible to be held hostage, but I know very well how hard it is to overcome this problem. A lot of people of all sizes have a problem using a cane. It's a pride thing too. I've never felt that way about my cane though. My cane is my friend, it gets me where I want to go. It's pretty too, clear acrylic, looks like glass so it goes with any outfit I'm wearing. I think of it as an accessory. Funny thing is that I don't mind using my walker indoors in stores or wherever, but outdoors I somehow feel more exposed or vulnerable or something. Wish I would get over that!
