OK, that last questionaire about who we avoid got me motivated to share some of my inlaw antics. I swear to you that each story is 100% completely true. I also share some stories so that each of you will say a prayer for me each night through the holdidays as I get to deal with this wonderful family of mine.

This is one of my all time favorites. SIL is/was/is and "exotic" dancer, ( read stripper there). Some years ago she had her boobs done. However, she can't let daddy know what kind of life she leads, he is a moran after all, so her and MIL concoct a story. FIL shows up at our house one night very distraught and full of worry. See, his little girl just had some cancerous lumps removed from her breasts, which is why they are swollen. It fell to DH and I to explain to FIL, with a slight language barrier (inlaws are puerto riccan and FIL doesn't speak the best english and DH does not speak the best spanish), that SIL did not have breast cancer but rather had a surgical procedure done to enhance her money making ability. Yes, you read right. MIL concocted this story with SIL to pull one over on FIL. This is what I married in to. DH was definately a product of the stork, not the gene pool his family shares! LOL

One would think but not so much. Of course this is normal life for my ILs. Everyone else in the family, aunts/uncles/cousins/siblings knew the truth. I got one better for you.

FIL and MIL were moving to FL. FIL did not want to sell the house here but would not let SIL live in it alone or with her boyfriend. So MIL and SIL created a pretend wedding. FIL put down some cash on a reception hall. MIL had aunt help her put on a bridal shower. I refused to go, I knew it was a sham. How greedy to accept gifts! Anyway, about a month before the "wedding" SIL and her "fiance" ran off to Las Vegas to get "married" therefore duping FIL. He lost his deposit on the hall but believed the lies. He moved to FL and let SIL have the house. Of course, I was seriously in the dog house because I refused to go along and buy some gift for the fake bridal shower. FIL eventually found out what everyone else in the family already knew. The other bridal shower guests (other than family) were none the wiser. Sad isn't it?

Oh, I do laugh at them now. It is amazing the things my MIL and SIL can come up with. But let me tell you, going through it at the time it is not funny. Now that they have moved 18 hours away and we don't have to live their trauma drama we do laugh and shake our heads alot.
