~Sigh~ nothing is easy

It started out about 9 AM. Dh and I decided we never play the radio/cd player in this room, and might watch tv more often, so we cleared a shelf in this bookcase (took out the radio/cd player), and proceeded to put the little bedroom tv in here (since we don't watch tv in there anyway). ...it was too wide. Okay, no problem, we'll just move the printer (that would be better for me anyway).... we set the printer aside... A trim piece had to be removed to get the tv to fit on the shelf, but that wasn't a big problem.  ....the printer won't fit on the new shelf.  Okay.... we'll move the tv to the shelf next to it (do you get the idea we have now got the contents of every shelf out and on the daybed? Oh well, I needed to dust back there anyway). Trim piece must come off again, move the tv, replace the printer. Now to just hook up the cable to the tv.  I wasn't much help, and couldn't go on the computer here without being in the way, so I left to go to the store.  ....When I return I find out dh can't get the tv to work.  Up and down the stairs, connecting and reconnecting.... test the cable on something else.... bad cable.  Thread new cable up from downstairs.... Ahh! Cable tv!

I rearranged the stuff that was on the shelves - getting rid of a lot of old, outdated computer books - and now all that's left is to put up with whatever dh is doing in the basement that is whining and vibrating the floor beneath my chair.

So a chore that was supposed to take about half an hour, took about 3 hours. ...Sounds about right, lol.

My neighbor already sent me the pic she took (or had someone take) of us at the restaurant. I'll post it in a separate thread in a moment, which, the way things are going this morning, should take about an hour, LOL!

Yep, that sounds just about right to me!! How often I'll say, "Everything so damned difficult!!" Today I heard John say that when he was trying to do something or other. I said, "Hey, those are my words!!" LOL!!

The older I get, the harder things seem to be and take longer to accomplish. I don't get it!! The Golden Years are supposed to be easier aren't they?? Geez!!

Yes, we have the tv in this room now and working well - if we care to watch it here, lol. And there were plenty of tantrums! There always are when dh runs into problems doing something - which seems to be all the time, lol. That was part of why I decided to go to the store while he was doing it!

I still have a bunch of beanie babies to do something with. No, they weren't on any of the shelves, but I had to find somewhere for the things that had taken up residence on top of the tv when it was in the bedroom, and in doing that, decided to move some things to a shelf in here and get rid of some unwanted beanies. Maybe I'll put them on Craig's List or ebay.

geesh...dh is just digging his hole a bit deeper.how does he expect you to call him ~ if needed~ with no service? wouldn't it be cheaper to just keep the service instead of turning on & off as you travel?

sigh..hope he doesn't spring anything on you today. if he wants to survive ...he won't!
