I did that one year after my last DH died and I was recuperating from surgery and Christmas was a burden in many ways

You will know when the right time comes to give the ornaments,,,

I like the table top trees, they smell great , look great and are easy to handle,, doesn't always have to be life sized

This year the top of our tree is nakey. It is a full size tree but because of the crawling monster we have it up on a small table so the top winds up only an inch from the ceiling. Normally I have either a Precious moments trumpeting angel or a singing PM angel. I rotate them, usually.

Not sure what will be on the top of our tree this year.

It will either be the lighted up star or the angel.

Oh Donna I so enjoy hearing about traditions that continue from year to year. In our case some have changed---like when our children were young we always marked "that day" when we went to get our tree, often an all day affair; we usually ended up stopping

That sounds so pretty! Some of the magazines in the past have shown alternative ways to displays your ornaments without cutting a tree...great ideas! I so love the smell
