I knew something was going on,, and yep the flu.... been trying to sleep today but too many aches and pains and coughing and nasal problems ,fever, headaches oh yuck.  Of course, BIL called to say they would be stopping by for their first ever visit to out r new home today,,, dh said no way, suzan is down in bed with the flu,, OK, he siad then we'll come tomarrow at 3 and  bring FIL/MIL,,,, do you know anyone who ever recovered from the flu in one afternoon??  so dh went out to grocery shop for dinner, (he is making MY dinner tonight) and I had to get up and CLEAN the house,, after being away for 3 weeks it looks like he-l-  so washed the floors , vacuumed, cleaned the 3 bathrooms, kitchen, balcony... don't need to tell you that I am sicker now..  hmmm I swear  they are all gonna drive me nuts.  (I'm planning to call ds adn coffee over if I feel better as they help me out and give me moral support, plus it is FIL's birthday so I don't want to hear any stories later on that ds didn't come to say happy b'day or that we have to do dinner..) I sooo don't want BIL's wife in this house... I just dislike her and she's a very very envious person and that's not nice at all. ,,, grrrrrr.   OK back to bed ....

Sorry to hear you are sick with the flu ::sigh::
Can't believe you did all you did while feeling so bad too!
Why would they want to come over & risk getting sick ?
Hopefully you'll feel better so you can visit with them since you have no choice.
Please do stay in bed, rest & take it easy.
Feel better :)

I'm sorry you've got the flu. It was totally wrong of your ILs to insist on coming over! I say you should cough on them and then when they get sick, say "well, you knew I had the flu".

Oh, Suzan, you deserve a medal for what you have to put up with from the inlaws!! Tomorrow morning when you're still sick, your DH can call them and cancel them for another couple of days!! Or..maybe he can go and meet them at a restaurant somewhere without you! Take care of yourself and don't let them dominate or control you! Okay this is a bit crass, but my feelings are..."Piss on 'em!!!" If they're too inconsiderate and unkind to be respectful of you and your illness, they deserve to be dealt with firmly!! Geez!! You want me to come over there and give them a talking to?!! I would you know!

You got up from your sick bed and cleaned the house for them??!! Sometimes husbands need to get bopped over the head! This sounds like one of those times! At least he's fixing your dinner tonight.

Cough on all of them..sneeze on them too..every one and a double dose for the SIL and FIL!!!

I used to allow inlaws to dominate me in my younger years with former DH's families, but that will never ever happen again! One of John's sisters, the one with cancer, is dominating and has always led the family as if she was the mother. Their mother died at the age of 52 and this sister is the oldest girl. John has always been a push over for Saundra all his life and I saw that when we were dating. I told him a few times, very firmly, that all of that would be coming to a screeching halt when we got married. I have stuck to my word and he is actually grateful. I do like them and like being with them, but it will only be when we are available and we will not change plans to accomodate them. I think she figured me out in that area right away too for she backed off early on and has not been too pushy since. Smart girl! LOL!!

Suzan, sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon.

I think it's very rude of your in-laws to come over while you are sick, then if they get sick they will be complaining.

Id get DH to call and cancel.

((((((Susan)))))) So sorry to hear you're sick and have to have company! What the heck are your in-laws thinking? I'd stay as far away as possible from someone who has the flu...They deserve what they get!!!

After reading your other post to me about your FIL, I don't think I like him very much...I

Just remembered something. Last night at choir, some of us were talking about colds and coughing. One lady said that a good remedy to stop coughing is to rub Vick's Vaporub on your feet and cover them with socks. We laughed, but she said it really does work. I just did a google search and found this same remedy among others there too. Wouldn't hurt to try it if coughing is a problem.

Here's a pretty picture for you.......
