Crock Pot Question.........

Those of you who use your crock pot, I need some advice please. I was going to cook pork chops, onions, sliced potatoes and baby carrots in the regular oven. I won't have time to do it, get it finished cooking and delivered to a friend's home by 5pm on Sunday. I'm going to instead cook it in my crock pot.

My question is...Can I still put the potatoes in the crock pot too? Should I slice them in wide slices or halve them or leave them whole? Can I put the baby carrots in too? If so, what should come first, next, etc. for layering them? I'm also going to pour a can of Campbells chicken with rice soup over it as I have done before using only the pork chops.

Thank you for any tips.... Photobucket

What happened is that a friend was hit in the side while driving by someone who ran a red light. She has a broken femur in her right leg and dislocated her right elbow too. They surgically put a rod and pins in her leg, no cast, and it's hard for her to get around now. It happened last Friday. Her DH had foot surgery two days before her accident too and is on crutches and he also has come down with the flu. They have no bedrooms on the main floor, so she's sleeping on the couch. When it rains it sometimes pours! A few of us friends are taking turns bringing meals in for them. When I hear of things like this, I pray for them and count my blessings.

Sorry to hear about your friend Donna,
Yes when it rains it pours ::sigh::

You can put all of it in together,
Cut the potatoes at least in fours ..
Depending how long you will be cooking it for.
If a really long time leave them bigger as opposed to smaller.
I believe you should put the potatoes & carrots in first.
Hopefully others can help you with this as well.

Good thoughts & prayers for your friend & her DH :)

Yep, you can put all of those veggies in and then some. I bought almost a year ago and use it for making pot roast and veggies. I even leave the potatoes whole (baby size) and they cook straight through.
