Question about Pie Crust
| Sun, 12-14-2008 - 10:40am |
Normally I use lard for my pie crust,, (gasp),, can't buy that here,, so am wondering if anyone has made a crust using butter? How did it turn out,,, anything to watch for... I 'm a wonderful cook,,, just can't make a pie to save my life,, so I'm planning to make the crust ahead of time and freeze it,, so if I can't get it rolled out, I'll have time to just keep trying, (yes, have done that before,,, 4 pie crusts later,,,,,,,, ) given I feel up to it that is... LOL Help???????????
editing to say that cause of the weight of my luggage had to take my roling pin out,, and today I found the kind they use here,,, but those are like thin poles,, about 30" long and 1" wide,,, good luck to me with that... LOL

All butter pie crusts are good for sweeter pies. I feel the best is half Crisco, half real butter. There are recipes for all butter crusts if you google
Thanks everyone,,, and no , I'm not making the pie crust until I feel better,, but thought I'd see if anyone had ever made or eaten the all butter pie crust,,, have a recipe for it....
