Santa Came!!!

I wasn't sure if Santa would come for me as I'm not always a very good girl. Just ask John, he'll agree with that..LOL!!

Early on John and I talked about not exchanging gifts, but he didn't like that idea. So, my sweet Santa John got me a gift card from my favorite store, Coldwater Creek, beautifully wrapped by the store. They do such a nice job of packaging all the time, but at Christmas, they do even better.

Along with that, he wrote me the sweetest love letter. Awww..good boy John!

He then thought, so he tells me, that he wanted to get me more, so he went back to Coldwater Creek a couple of days before Christmas and bought me *another* gift card!! Wow..Very Good Boy John!!
He knows I really was a very good girl after all!

That's not all. He also gave me a beautiful greeting card with a wonderful loving printed message. Along with that, he also found a love poem online that he thought spoke of his feelings for me. He tweaked it some to make it personal and printed it to include in my card. He loves me, that's for sure! I am fortunate and I know it.

John needs lots of clothes. I mean, he already has/had lots of clothes, but a large percentage of those have gone to GoodWill and more need to go there too! So, I gave him two pairs of pants, three shirts and a sweater. I recently, not for Christmas, bought him three sweaters and two casual hang around the house pants too. He still needs more stuff, but that was all I could handle for now. I didn't give him a card or love note, but did speak loving words to him about how thankful I am that he is in my life.

We fixed some eggs, turkey bacon and toast for breakfast. Later we'll make turkey legs, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and cranberry sauce. We forgot to buy something special for dessert, but we do have our usual snack, sugar free pudding cups and that will be fine. This evening we'll enjoy champagne together and watch a movie or two.

It's a good day all around even though we'll not be seeing family today. We had a fun time last night at his DD's house with all his immediate family and , as you know, we already had Christmas with my family earlier. The church service afterwards was beautiful too. It is a Very Blessed Christmas.

I hope you're all enjoying a good day too. Rusty, I know you're looking forward to tomorrow's celebration! I hope the weather is good for everyone, especially for those traveling. It's sunny here today in south central KS and going up to 52*F and will be the same tomorrow and supposed to hit 59*F! That will be great for the airplane to take off safely!

So, everyone, how is your day going so far? Did Santa come to visit you?? Do tell if you'd like as you know we all have inquiring minds..lol!!

I have been enjoying reading posts and seeing all the holiday sig tags too..very nice!!

Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas everyone!
When I count my blessings, I always count all of you.

Here it is standing still .... http://www.geocities.com/cincin21/Desider.html

It is a poem called Desiderata ....

DESIDERATA

by Max Ehrman

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perenial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself in dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the Universe - no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be Careful.
Strive to be happy.
