Got back from brandon las night. Grant and i left late afternoon friday. work finally gave out christmas bonus' So we went and stayed in brandon friday night in a motel. Shopped a bit friday.
Saturday we went to value village and i got some cool bottles and two more pots for thomas' leaving home stuff...LOL hint hint!!
No seriously he and i talkeda year ago and he wanted my olddish set and said don't though stuff out he could use in he home...so i have been saving for him.
We went to the re store. It is a store of stuff that they have torn out of homes and building and resell. we you will never guess what we got for $400.00
A corner jetted bathtub!!!! So excited!! we have talked about slowly starting to collect stuff for the new bathroom , and this was step one!!
So we get home and thomas is always wanting something. often i don't make him pay us back ...even for his part of the cell bill. He will pick up stuff for us from time to tine when i ask. So when will we be home he has something in the truck for us and needs a hand unloading it .
So we get a call half way home....when are you getting here. we my hubby..."mr trucker" in the oilfield and know all the roads...missed our turn. we ended up a a town just north of the turtle mountains on the 10 south. I know jo will know the name...it escapes me now. Boissevain.Boom!! Blizzard. White out conditions!could barely seeSo west we went past delorane ...got to wascada and we were suddenly out of the storm. About 20 minites from home now.
Ps: after delorane it is gravel till the melita corner...then pierson and home. Crazy drive, i tell you! We had to get hom dh had a rig move today.
So what was in the truck?? 16 sheats of gyproc (walboard) so we could finish more stuff in the house faster. So nice...now that is love!
LOL i know i forgot to tell you something....
Oh ya thomas got a call about 5am. A shop/shed on fire. Storthoaks is about 10-15 minites north of here. The farm was 2 miles south.
So thomas hops in his car to go get the water bus.Gets a call about 5 minites later...forget it a rig water truck put what was left of it out. The guys was vary lucky the shed was across the yard.He lost the shop stuff(usually tools and men stuff is in them like a garage but a lot bigger.). They lost 3 trucks, the wifes van, anda new quad(4x4)
Oh blizzard warning 10 minites aprox 10 minite south on the boarder...so i am betting we will get one soon too!

phew,,,
Isn't it scarry the amount of fires Suzan!
With thomas having the bus full of water(tank in it with heaters so the pump and water won't freeze and burst.) he is one of the first called along with the fire trucks. Here we are all volenteer fire fighters, so it is a learning thing.
I think some of the trouble is the old non updated home and the power all the new gadgets take. It totally over burdens the electrical in these home. Then hot breaker box or wires and outlets..ect = fires!!
With thomas' friends fire. they have bedrooms near the garage(well had now...they are all in a small trailer thomas also hauls water too), The garage heavy duty construction heaters coil got too hot and exploded. Amazing to me that can happen. So may shops are also heated with those.
Last year we had a lot of chimney and fireplace fires. People that never sweep the chimneys or clean the firepaces.Another thing is people that try to burn things that they shouldent. We have people that will through coal in the fireplaces at night...well they are not made for that either.
So far today i have only played on the puter....lazy me LOL!
Hey Glenda, nice to get away for the night and find some great bargains, too! Love the "corner jetted bathtub"...how nice that is going to be, lucky you:-)
Nice surprise Thomas had waiting for you and Grant.....Sounds like quite an advanture getting home....Glad you made it home safe and sound.
So did you get another blizzard?
playing on the computer is good for you Glenda,,, keeps you from hauling stuff around and you need the lazy time for sure.
Hi Glenda - I'm happy you got a night away from home and family members - spending a night in a hotel sounds like fun.

The storm we came home in never hit here, suprisingly too. we had snow saturday night and a bit of a storm last night. barely got the back door open. well we need the moisture too!
We were blown away by thomas and his generosity. Most kids would never help out like that. he says now grant can get his room finishe and the tub in LOL
