I did get out today, it was nice and I was ahead of the traffic so had no problems there. I opted for a smaller less spectacular mall that is close to home but I had not been too.   Got a prime place parking right at the front door.  I bought all sorts of things for the home,, toothpaste /brush holders, a scatter rug ,  some serving dishes in glass, pot holders, groceries, and a mop and a ladder... (so am washing some sheers right now as I type.)

Now here's the thing:    they also have a pet shop there so I went in to buy a new brush for Coffee as the one i'm using is not getting through to the bottom layer of fur, (she has a really really thick coat now.. ) and we play beauty parlor  once everyday and her ears 2x a day, brush her teeth once a day.   So I got the brush and was on my way out when I passed the cages.  All precious at various ages and then came the 7 week old cocker spaniel that looked like coffee but only 7 weeks.. soooo tiny and curled up in a tight ball, just trying to lift the little head and look at me,,, (thinking that 's how coffee must have looked , same color),, anyway the sales person came right over and asked if I would like to buy her,,, I just looked up at him and started crying...  so I ran out of the store.    Still crying as I type,,,  I already em'd dh and told him we had to move to a farm.

ohhhhhh dear.  I know this sounds so silly of me, but I can't help it...

Not silly at all. The puppy touched your heart and your tears were a natural reaction to that and to knowing you couldn't take her home with you - as much as you may have wanted to.

Awwww Suzan....

You're not silly for feeling that way....

I've gotten to where I avoid pet stores now because I want every kitten I see. I feel so guilty for leaving them there....

Oh, ya big mush!! LOL!! There's lots of pet lovers here, so we all understand how you're feeling over the puppies. You have a nice situation going having a grandpup. You can love Coffee and play with her and then let her go home with your DS, like you would do with a human grandchild. Full time pets are a lot of work and responsibility

I know you have had a pet in the past, so my suggestion to you is to "walk on by..."
