Board Business:
1. There is a thread around here somewhere about the A Idol. I realize that many like to watch that program and talk about it. Problem is: we don't get the show here so it would be impossible for me to even remember to pop up that thread or make a new thread for you to discuss and need I say since I don't watch it..... Perhaps you have the new idol already and this note is passee.... if not, and if there is still interest in an AI thread, would someone please take the inititive to start a thread and reply. Thanks That's the only item I have a problem with on this board right now... I will try to do my best to keep up.
2. My laptop keeps freezing when I'm on iVillage and only iVillage, it's very annoying . I don't really know what's going on. I had assumed it was the vista on my new laptop so I sent that back to Munich and kept this laptop here and now it's happening on this one too. I'm working diligently on this problem. So, I just wanted to say, if you don't see me for a couple days you will know it's my laptop. Hoping nothing will happen but just wanted to let you know. Just continue on chatting and know that I did not desert the ship. ;O)
Monday Morning Buzz
I had a very nice weekend and hope you all did too. Yes, I got my coffee break and much as I love the little girl, I badly needed my break and ds badly needed to be responsible for her (which he was, walks and meds and all ). I've been concerned about a few issues with her behavior lately and did some massive research on these issues. Of course as she's so sweet and cuddly and has been so ill in the past months, with all my mothering and pampering, she turned into pack leader. (dumbo me). She's here today and is under" military training". (I'm using the 2nd phase of "nothing in life is free" methodology: necessary for her and for me: no more marshmellow me, it's only confusing her and will get me bitten one of these days). Luckily for me, she is a fast learner. We get to go out for a short walk today. She's doing much better and only has 5 more antibiotic pills to take.
Other than that, the weekend was OK. We rested and walked in town, sat in the cafes, grocery shopped, I bought a set of 4 new mugs with fruit designs on them,, cute. Four mugs were set aside for donation (I use the "something in = something out" strategy) and will give them to my cleaning lady for her son. We did not have to go visit MIL/FIL and I was glad. I just wanted a "do nothing/play it by ear weekend." We ate lunches out and had easy dinners,,, (breakfast for dinner type). I also put on some nice clothes all weekend even though we just stayed here much of the time, but all week long when Coffee is here I put on the same old outfit as it gets covered with doghair,,, so it felt good to put on nice slacks (black watch plaid) and a nice navy blue cashmere sweater. LOL
That's enough of me and my weekend! Anxiously waiting for someone here to wake up and start the ball rolling...

I fully understand your world being wrapped up in kids. I was like that too up until after my last back surgery in 2007. The recuperation was so hard and I was still babysitting every day and I couldn't take it anymore. My DD2 had to find other sitting arrangements for I lost my patience and I wasn't so much fun anymore. It took all I had just to cope with the enormous pain I was having to live with that went on for a long time. I still kept the kids occasionally, but not every day anymore and I won't go back to watching them every day.
Hi Fran,, ohhhhhhhh a new computer,,,,
