Have you ever seen the total of your grocery bill and wondered what you got that was that expensive? I just did. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't nearly $160! But I guess (after looking at the receipt) it's right. We were out of a lot of staples... and I got quite a bit of meat... and a few deals I couldn't pass up... so I guess it's right.  Well, it isn't right, but it is correct, LOL! ....I may have to make this stretch a bit further than I thought I would, though!

Do you ever get "sticker shock", or are you one of those people who is able to keep a running total of your order in your head?

ann,

things have just gotten so expensive. that's why we are hoping to have a big veggie garden this year to help out on some of the expense.

Just did shopping yesterday.....only meat I bought was chicken thighs and a roast.....the price of cereal is outrageous...I only buy the Kroger brands and eat a lot of their "Cheerios" now.....

My bill came to 134.14....when I swipe my debit card, it asks if I agree with the amount...I always want to

Do you have the self serve tills there yet?? We do at a few stores. If i have a small amout i will go through them...sure saves time and you see all you pay for at the time too!

Geez Glenda, I thought our fruit was to expensive to buy right now....most is coming from Chilie, so I wouldn't buy it anyway.....I'll just have to wait until summer and buy CA fruits....apples are always available, thank goodness....I just don't like buying fruits and veggies not grown in the US.....I do buy Australian oranges when ours are out of season....I'd buy from Canada too, if I ever saw anything:-)
