I need a Wednesday Whine time right now!!! Okay, here's what happened....

We got up this morning to find that our refrigerator wasn't cooling! It just got repaired last September!!! Remember when I had to cook all the meats in the freezer so they wouldn't spoil? Well, I had to do that again today!! Of course this had to happen when we had several types of meats in the freezer!!

So, I called the repair guy..he gave us the bad news that the compresser went out and it would cost more to replace than to buy a new fridge! Grrrrr!!!! The fridge is only 7 year old!! Grrrrrr!!!! My last one was an Amana and it lasted 18 years!! This one is a Whirlpool and even he said this is the best brand to buy. Of all the repairs he does, he does way less on Whirlpools than any other brand. Others have told me the same..so I did..and it only lasted me 7 years!!! Nothing is built like it used to be in the "olden days"!!!

Sooooo..off we went to Lowe's to buy another Whirlpool in hopes it will last AT LEAST another 7 freakin' years!!! We should have bought one made in China, maybe that would have lasted longer!!!

That's not all...I use bisque colored appliances and of course they don't stock those! Neither does anyone else!! It isn't going to be delivered until the end of NEXT WEEK!!! We have two coolers filled with food and stuff an lots and lots of ICE!!

More...the store does stock white, black, and this ugly battleship grey they've come out with to replace stainless steel. John asked me why we couldn't get white!! Our other appliances are bisque!!! I didn't even answer him!!! When we got home, he asked me again why we couldn't get white? He knows the other appliances are NOT white!! I answered him this time, "You want me to put a fridge that does not match the other appliances making it look like sh*t in my house?!! I don't think so!!!" I was so p*ssed by then that there was no way in H*LL I could have answered in a nice tone!!! He knew my stress level was WAY overloaded!!! What ta heck was he thinking?!!

You think that's it? Ohhhh..Nooooo...there's more!!!

While in Lowe's, after we made our fridge purchase, we went over to look at faucets as I want to replace our's in the kitchen some time this year. I was looking them over when he brought me one that he thought we should buy. I think the man's nuts for even thinking I would agree to his choice in the first place!! I mean, it's me we're talkin' about here!!! It was shiny chrome and cheap and I already have one that's cheap and it's freakin' falling apart!! I said, "No! I don't want shiny chrome!" So, what did he do..he found another one to bring me..another shiny chrome that was on sale and also cheap!! I repeated in a firmer voice this time, "No!! I don't want shiny chrome!!!" He huffed off! Poor John!! I decided what I wanted, but we didn't buy it now as I couldn't even think about getting it installed as J wants to do it himself. Oh, Lord, have mercy!!! LOL!!! I thought I wanted the brushed bronze I think they call it, the brown color. I found that what I really like is polished nickel. It's not as silver as stainless steel, has almost a hint of gold bronze to it while still being a brushed silver nikel color..I like it!

So, I've now cooked up a bunch of meats..bought a new fridge...went down the basement, I don't do stairs well, to find the cooler that John looked twice to find and couldn't..I found the cooler right away..geez..out in the back yard with the garden hose and soap and scrub brush I scrubbed out one of the coolers that was dirty (it's one that was John's that he brought with him when we got married..that explains the dirt)..cleaned out the old broken fridge with John help and packed the foods in the coolers..John went to the store twice to get enough ice for the coolers..we cleaned up the mess..all this while doing three loads of laundry..and I am EXHAUSTED!!! This was supposed to be a relaxing kind of day!! We were going to go for a walk in the park, but it's too windy and we're too pooped now to do anything else at all!! I was going to get my nails done, but am too tired to do that now!!

The good thing...I don't have to cook any meats for dinners this week!!

So, that's how my day has gone so far..how's your's? Anyone else feel a need to vent? If so, let it out for I feel a better just saying it "out loud"!! Thank you all for listening to me go on and on for it really does help to talk about it!!

Big Hugs to my listening audience..LOL......

I will have them all match by waiting for the right color to get delivered later this week. I don't want to buy a new fridge and then have to get it painted.

I agree with you on the side by side fridge's. Our's was an oversized one too, largest they make and I never liked it. There wasn't enough room on each shelf and I didn't like having to bend down to get things all the time too. Of course on the top freezer one that my broken one was and the new one will be, I have to bend for the veggie bins, but that's what I have J for..LOL!!

Good top see that you can get the older colour.
Here the farmers/oldtimers/bachalors hold on to stuff forever. Go to the dump and you will find the yellow, green, brown and blue appliances. No they have red small appliances for the kitchen...too much for me i tell you!

I didn't like the ice maker on the door or the water on the door either. It was a novelty at first, but a pain after. I prefer bottled water for drinking and packaged ice as it tastes better and stays fresh til it's gone. The freezer ice maker tasted stale after awhile if we didn't use it much, so I had to take out that big bin and dump it and start over.

I told the salesman that I didn't want the ice maker hooked up on the new fridge. Good thing as this model didn't come with one. It had the place for it, but we'd have to buy

In the summer my dog and cat love to be outside. we have a large car door they both fit through. so i have a ice cream pail outside will it full of cube and some water. so we use it for that. That and i bought this cool juice jug from walmart last year. it has a cilender down the center you can fill with ic. That keeps the iced tea cool for a long time.
We go through a lot of bottled water. we are killing the enviroment!
