update on the car

After talking with the insurance company, we find we have no coverage for collision - just liability, so we have no deductible to play with. So dh will try to find a new hood and other parts he needs and do the work himself.  I know he can do it, but I worry what color hood I'm going to end up with, lol. My car is a rather unusual color, sort of aquamarine. Sometimes it looks dark blue and other times, it's dark green!

But whatever it ends up looking like, I'm sure it'll be better than it is now.

As for me, I'm tired - I don't think I slept at all last night. I don't know why, I wasn't in pain, just couldn't sleep. And I'm achy, but that doesn't surprise me. I'll give it a couple days and see how I feel. If I don't feel better, I'll see my doc.

Too bad about the collision insurance,, we always have it when we don't need it,, and don't have it when we could use it... murphy's law for sure.

If my ankle still hurts on Monday, I'll call my doc and go see her to get it checked out.

Yes, I'm sooo glad dh can do automotive work himself! I really don't know what I'd do without him.

And we decided that with a car that old, the deductible would

I'm sure your dh will fix the vehicle up nicely for you.

Dh thinks he can straighten the hood himself. It may have a few blemishes, but as long as it fits well and is the right color, I won't complain.

Oh Ann, I was so sorry to read about your accident.....thankful you're doing ok....sounds like you've gotten lots of advice about your ankle so I won't add to it...except to say stay off of it as much as possible:-)

Lucky your dh can do the repairs on your car....since he's a perfectionist, as you say, I'm sure you'll be happy when it's all done....

And btw, don't feel "stupid"....accidents happen...Hugs and take care!!

Thanks. I'm trying to tell myself that people have accidents all the time and this was a minor one and everything like that, but I'm still mad at myself for getting into it in the first place. My mind keeps running over all the "if only's", but it all boils down to, "If only I hadn't hit that guy!".

Hey Ann,
Except for no collison .. the rest is good news.
Hopefully DH can find the right colors
Or like Suzan suggested maybe order it.
Either way least you still have your car which is terrific!
Hope you can rest & sleep better tonight :)

Thanks. I try to reassure myself that all will be fine in time, but at the moment, I'm feeling kind of bleak. the side of my foot is now all bruised and sore, but I think it's just a bad sprain because I can walk on it and wiggle my toes without excruciating pain.

But my shoulders and neck are stiff and sore, still, and my car looks pathetic. I don't know when dh will be able to get the parts he needs to fix it.
