I got a call from the insurance company of the guy I hit. She wanted a bunch of information from me about the accident and then said they'd be "coming after me" for damages related to his car. I said the guy and the policeman both said they couldn't see any damage and she said she had the accident report right there that said there was. Then she asked me a bunch more questions about the accident and asked for the claim number. I said (po'ed by her attitude) I didn't have that handy and if she had the accident report in front of her, she already had all the answers to the questions she had just asked me. She then asked me if I even filed a report with my insurance company! I said I had, gave her the name of my insurance company, and told her to call them for any more information she needed or claims her client had. Then I hung up.
I suppose there could have been damage that didn't show, but I know for a fact the cop put down "minor" as the damage on the guy's car (mine was listed as moderate). I wish I'd thought to take a picture of the guy's bumper!
So that's going to have me upset until I hear from my insurance how much damage they're claiming, and how much my insurance will go up.

{{hugs}} Ann .. some people look on accidents like you had as a *stroke of good luck!*
Yes, it was very unusual - and wrong - to call me, but I didn't think of that at the time.

Yes, she shouldn't have called me at all and if I'd been thinking,

And my cell phone does have a camera, but I never gave a thought to using it until my friend said she wished we had a camera and I remembered mine. But then the guy was driving away.
Oh well, it probably wouldn't have done much good, anyway, if they're claiming damage that wasn't immediately seen.
I'll just wait to see what my insurance company says.

Ann please consider calling your insurance company anyway - you don't need this annoying woman's name or phone number.
