I got a call from the insurance company of the guy I hit. She wanted a bunch of information from me about the accident and then said they'd be "coming after me" for damages related to his car. I said the guy and the policeman both said they couldn't see any damage and she said she had the accident report right there that said there was. Then she asked me a bunch more questions about the accident and asked for the claim number. I said (po'ed by her attitude) I didn't have that handy and if she had the accident report in front of her, she already had all the answers to the questions she had just asked me. She then asked me if I even filed a report with my insurance company! I said I had, gave her the name of my insurance company, and told her to call them for any more information she needed or claims her client had. Then I hung up.
I suppose there could have been damage that didn't show, but I know for a fact the cop put down "minor" as the damage on the guy's car (mine was listed as moderate). I wish I'd thought to take a picture of the guy's bumper!
So that's going to have me upset until I hear from my insurance how much damage they're claiming, and how much my insurance will go up.

Most of us don't think when they get a call like you did. you tried to do the right thing...thats all.
They sure know how to play people.
My agent after i was hit called and came here for the meeting. She said i looked sicky...i told her i had my visitor and she said ...are you sure that partof the pain you areclaiming is not from that...HUH?? I have had my visitor for years...and the bad periods before the accident...i think i know the differance. She would not pay for the medication anymoe after that day.
So treat them like the inlaws. watch what you volunteer for info...they tent to bend it to mean whatever they want and you are sunk.
((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
LOL rusty it is funny!
Yes they are a different type of people that can do that kinda job. I wonder if the woman recorded the conversation or if it is illegal there?? Maybe someone was listening in?? Dirty thats all i can say!
Yes, he was great at the accident site. He said he didn't see any damage. But he was a kid (20's or so, I think) and I bet when he got home, his parents found damage he didn't see.
I'm sure the accident report the police have on file is what they'll go by and I know the cop said he had reported the damage on the other car was minor, so maybe all will work out.
But I was told in the accident I had a few years ago that the other company should NOT be calling me and all paperwork should go through the companies, so that's what I'll tell them if they call again.

Amazing how rude some people can be when it comes to something like this ::sigh::
People taking advantage of others .. ugh, what is wrong with them!
Hopefully he either will back down or it won't be bad hopefully.
Let us know how all this turns out :)
Ohhh..Ann..that had to be a knot in the stomach moment!! I hate surprise calls like that when you needed time to think of what you wanted to say if you'd have known she was going to call you.
Do you have her # on your phone's caller ID? If so, your insurance company can probably find out where the call came from.
I hope this all turns okay.
